My husband had recently become obsessed with filming "couple prank" videos for TikTok.

Late one night, he suddenly called me.

His voice was unusually serious.

"I cheated on you."

I thought it was just another one of his carefully prepared pranks.

Playing along, I answered without hesitation,,

"What a coincidence. I cheated too."

I waited for him to laugh and say, "Got you!" Like he always did.

Instead, the line went silent.

A few seconds later, he let out a relieved chuckle.
